Covid-19 & Staying Safe
Italy!Adventures Exclusive Italian Tours
Updated 11/3/2021

1. What is the Covid-19 situation currently like in Italy?

We have had an uptick in inquiries on the status of Covid-19. Travelers have been reaching out to see what their options are for a possible trip to Italy. We are pleased that many people are starting to feel optimistic.

As of this fall, Italy is fully-open for business and to welcome tourists for a visit.

Italy has made great strides since it had among the highest rates of Covid-19 in the world at the start of the pandemic in winter 2020.

Everyone is required to wear a mask when they enter a public area or building. A large majority of Italians have been positive about mask mandates which are designed to help keep everyone healthy and safe.

All workers in Italy -- working in one-person businesses to large businesses -- are required to be vaccinated in order to work and this has significantly increased vaccination rates.

As of November 2, 2021, according to the New York Times, 72% of the Italian population has  been fully vaccinated as compared with 58% in the U.S.

Italy now has the second highest rate of vaccination of any country in Europe.

Additionally, new daily cases of Covid-19 in Italy are low -- currently they are less than one-third the level of the U.S. -- on a per capita basis.

Italy has also provided what is called a "Green Pass" to everyone vaccinated in Italy. The Green Pass is an electronic "card" on your cell phone which shows that someone has been vaccinated. The Green Pass is scanned when you go into a public space and is required to enter restaurants, bars, museums, theaters, concerts and other large public gatherings. CDC cards issued by the U.S. are also accepted.

Italy is indeed open for business. All tourists who are fully-vaccinated are welcome to come and enjoy Italy. Inquiries and tourist bookings for our private escorted tours of Italy, both for first time trips to Italy and for seasoned travelers, are on the rise.

2. What are the requirements to enter Italy as a visitor or tourist and to depart Italy?

To enter Italy, all visitors and tourists are required to:

A. Have proof of a negative Covid-19 test result taken within the past 72 hours.

OR

B. Provide documentation that they have recovered from Covid-19 within the past 90 days.

To ensure the health and safety of residents and visitors alike, you will find that Italy has restricted those who can enter public venues. Public venues include: all restaurants, bars, museums, theme parks, concerts, other public venues and all forms of public transportation. Only those individuals who have been vaccinated or who have documentation of a recent negative Covid-19 test result (taken within the last 48 hours) are allowed to enter these venues.

A completed certificate showing that you have been vaccinated from the Italian government is accepted as proof of vaccination. Official documents issued by health authorities in the U.S. (with a completed CDC card), Canada, Israel, and the United Kingdom are also accepted.

In order to return to the U.S., all travelers are required to have a negative Covid-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to departure. Covid-19 tests are readily available in Italy at a minimal cost -- less than the equivalent of $25 USD.

At Italy!Adventures, we make the process of getting a Covid-19 test easy and stress-free. We will make an appointment and take you for your Covid-19 test prior to the conclusion of your tour.

3. What health and safety precautions do you take with your tours?

At Italy!Adventures, we are passionate about customer safety for all travelers. We care about the health and well-being of each traveler who takes any tour.

We take a number of extra health and hygiene measures and we follow strict safety protocols. Our driver will sanitize the car that we will use for our tours each day with disinfectants. The driver will also wear a mask for protection.

Upon arrival in Rome, we will have hand sanitizer available for your use in the car and in your hotel room. We will follow all Italian laws concerning health and safety that are in effect during your visit. By Italian decree, our driver and all travelers are required to wear a mask for protection while inside the car. Currently, all travelers must also wear a mask when they go inside. We will have masks readily available for your use as well.

For the safety of our guests and to make your experience as pleasurable and entertaining as possible, Italy!Adventures now requires that all travelers must be fully vaccinated prior to arriving in Italy in order to take one of our small private tours.

4. What happens if anyone in my private group gets Covid-19 shortly before the start of our private tour?

Customer health and safety is our number one priority. If you or anyone in your group gets Covid-19 within 30 days of the start of your tour, we will give you a full refund. Just send us a copy of the positive test result and we will refund all of the money that you and your group paid.

If you get Covid-19 more than 30 days prior to the start of your tour, our special no cancellation policies apply.
